Actually, more like the Dodgers are on a 5-game winning streak without Kemp. In his last four games, Kemp was oh for thirteen, with no runs, one rbi and one bb. It was actually worse than if he didn't play, since he contributed 13 outs.
Yes, the Dodgers won two of the games 2-1 and 3-1, but in the other three they won by at least 4 runs each and scored 24 runs. So it isn't as though the offense was lacking.
But yes, the pitching has been phenomenal. On Sunday, they broke a streak of 7 straight starts (that is, at least one with each starter) where the starter gave up 2 runs or less. On Sunday, Lilly only had that bad first inning. And yesterday, of course, Kershaw pitched shut out ball for seven innings. So in 9 games now, the Dodger starters gave up one 3-run inning, 3 2-run innings, and not more than 1 run in any of the other innings. That's simply, like I said, phenomenal.
