Bauer strikes out 13 in his 6th straight complete game. This moves him into first place on the all-time UCLA innings pitched list, and he may have moved into 3rd on the Pac-10 career strikeout list too. He's 25 away from 2nd place (with 2 weekends left in the regular season) and 67 away from Tim Lincecum's record. Bauer now has 167 strikeouts this year, which breaks his own UCLA single season record of 165.
In other sports, softball lost 5-0 today to finish 9-12 in conference play. Women's water polo lost 7-4 to Cal in the NCAA semifinals. Women's tennis beat Quinnipiac 4-0 in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Men's tennis is currently in the middle of their 2nd round match against Ole Miss.
