You don't really want to introduce a SECOND difference between college and major league ball, do you? Might as well change the length of the basepaths, the dimensions of the ballparks, the number of outs in an inning and innings in a game, the rules for balks, the infield fly rule, and the ground rule double . . . all to correct for the metal bats, which shouldn't have been allowed in the first place.
