What a week. I don't know about y'all, but I'm relieved that them thar longhorns, cowboys, and other varmits from the Southern half of the Big 12 won't be joining the Pac-10 (to make it a schizoid Pac-16). Our respective cultures, values, and traditions didn't seem compatible.
So we ended up with just one new member, Colorado. The Buffs don't play baseball, and about the only sport they're having much success in is skiing. Really.
Apparently, Plan B for the Pac-11 is to bring one more school into the conference, since 12 are required by the NCAA to have a football playoff game. That game and the two new teams will justify launching a Pac-12 TV channel, earning lots more money for conference members.
