Gerrit Cole (4-0) struck out 15 (fifteen!) Texas A&M batters and allowed only 2 runs on 5 hits in 7 innings en route to an 11-3 Bruin win in Corpus Christi. Although this A&M team does play division I ball, it's not to be confused with the team at the main A&M campus in College Station. Still, 15 strike outs and 11 runs is the kind of balanced performance that has characterized our UCLA team in 2010.
Saturday, the Bruins face Mississippi State (9-4), and Sunday's foe is Oklahoma (14-1). The Sooners are on a 9-game win streak. Both of these teams will likely give the Bruins a real test.
