The Bruins brought their best game to Dodger Stadium today--accurate pitching, timely hitting, solid fielding--and they came away with a 6-1 victory over the Trojans (3-4). Will a 6-0 start earn UCLA a place in the top 20 on Monday?
Elsewhere in the conference, Washington State knocked off Texas Tech to also go 6-0, and Arizona State took a fourth straight game from Towson to go 7-0. Oregon State (5-2) beat Tennessee to win their series 2-1; Washington (4-2) beat Fresno State to win their series 2-1; Stanford (4-3) was swept by Texas; a rainout saved Arizona (3-2) from being swept by Long Beach State; and Oregon (3-4) lost their third straight to Hawaii (with a last chance to avoid being swept tonight). Of course, things have a way of changing once the conference schedule gets underway, but for now, the Bruins, Cougs, and Sun Devils are the class of the Pac-10.
