Thome and Garland are decent late moves.

Don't see DH Thome getting much regular season action, other than a lot of key pinch hitting situations where a lefty or a HR is required (and maybe a spot start or two at first). That could mean a game or two.

I don't necessarily see him starting even in the WS in American league parks, because I think Pierre would probably be the DH and lead off in those scenarios.

Garland is having a nice year for the D-Backs, and becomes the Dodgers' 4th starter - one with playoff experience.

Belliard was interesting pickup as well. With WS experience in '06, a young team could count on that. Castro is probably the odd man out there.
