He did this piece today on the top 10 Dodger homers, and while he probably did a decent job of picking those 10 out, his ordering left a lot to be desired.
OK, he got #1 right. Anyone over 5 with both a left and right brain could have done that.
And, even though Manny's HR was not playoff or contention related, I'll grant that it's high on the list due to the surrounding drama and coincidences.
But, that said, a non-playoff winning HR could never match up to HR's such as Monday's 9th inning 2 out game winner against the 'Xpoes in '81, or the 2 out 9th inning game tyer in '88 against the Mets that would have dropped the Dodgers out of contention.
And, to put Finley's HR above those two, given that we didn't win anything those years (we won it all in '81 and '88), AND, Finley is hardly a Dodger of renown as Monday (burning flag) and Mike S (great career Dodger player and Angel manager).
