... considering that the two guys you mentioned (Piazza/LoDuca) all had their best years when they were on the Dodgers, for the most part.

And here's one I'll add. Way back, the Dodgers traded Joe Ferguson to the Cardinals for Reggie Smith, and mid-season, re-acquired Ferguson for nothing after he was dropped :-)

But, your point about their getting Halladay is valid, in that the Dodgers may not have what it takes. I think Toronto wants to unload salary (or anticipated salary), and would take prospects in exchange. The Dodgers don't have many.
