How did you manage to come up with that out of a baseball post? At least the Teleprompter of the United States you voted for has proved me to be correct.

Look at the money being paid to Manny and he isn't really needed. The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and Pierre has been more than an adequate replacement.

There is merit for your argument about paying that kind of money to a pitcher. Once you have the guy though you have a lot of flexibility to play or trade him for several good players.

Manny has baggage and is much more difficult to trade. The Nationals are desperate to find something to kick start their team and bring fans back to the stadium. If I were the Nationals I would trade Strasberg for several good players which the team needs at this point. One player that plays every fifth day isn't going to turn a team around.

The Nationals will likely have the top pick next season again and will probably draft the LeBron of baseball, the 16 yeear old from Las Vegas assuming he has the anticipated great season in J C baseball.
