... Manny returns. And, I think that's as it should be, for a few reasons. But, I do think his role will be escalated from the pre-Manny incident in the following ways.
-- I expect to see Pierre start twice per week. (Torre alluded to this in today's Times article). Manny could rest one day per week, as could one of the other two outfielders, and the Dodgers are only hurt defensively when Pierre plays center.
-- Pierre will continue to be the #1 pinch hitter coming off the bench, and may come into the game late for any of the 3 outfielders, depending upon the game situation and where the batting order sits.
It's a nice problem to have.
