The bats and gloves have already been put away, but the emotions of the past season, in which both the baseball and softball teams fell short of their goals and abilities, will linger on for awhile. I'm proud of the Bruin men and women who represented us in 2009. Third place in the nation's toughest baseball conference is nothing to be ashamed of. And first place in the toughest softball conference, followed by victory in the regionals, is no small achievement either. Let's not let our disappointment over what might have been diminish our appreciation for what WAS a successful season.
