what he does in his own life or what he has done or what he will do means absolutely nothing to them other than the fact that he is a tool to deliver them the win and the means to dominate the country's institutions and then eventually, our personal lives. That's the deal they made.
The only time they will abandon him will not be due to his failings, his lack of morality, or even politics, but it will be the moment they sense that he looks weak and powerless. That's when they'll decide he no longer has that "divine aura" about him.
