There was this malware program (forgot name) that was supposedly anti pirate software. It was supposed to prevent you from installing a pirate copy of the program however the problem was so bad it interfered with a legal install of the program. This was around 20ish years ago. The program was a big deal at the time, and I think that was when GOG (GOOD OLD GAMES) got its start.
In any event one of the gaming boards I was on at the time, Gone Gold, one of the regular posters fessed up and said he worked for the malware company. He said he was paid to go on various sites and reasonably argue that the program was not that bad. And he wasn't the only one on the payroll. BTW, the program was universally regarded as bad.
So now whenever I see a poster. posting in the style this guy talked about, my first thought is paid troll.
OTOH, if he's not paid, here's 2 scary thoughts:
1) He believes the stuff he's posting and based on the typical illogicalness of the substance posted, there is a mental. disconnect. I mean like making an argument and then posting a link that shows your argument is wrong. And it happens a lot here.
2)He doesn't believe the stuff being posted but does it anyway to get some kind of perverse pleasure in being annoying. What kind of life is that? I got a family. I play computer games. I exercise like a fanatic. I read a ton. I have to deal with my medical issues. My family issues. My pool guy is always finding something broken with my pool. I got a huge tax bill coming up. I exercise 4 hours a day and I am obese (albeit some of that is muscle and bone mass). And I would have time to wait for Biden to do something good then I counter program post to distract. EVERY DAY.
so what is it. Occams Razor says he get paid but it could be one of the others.
