Engoron didn't value MAL at all, the Palm Beach tax assessor did. The value listed in the charges is the value listed by the assessor, the one that Trump used to pay 602K in property taxes last year.
Palm Beach real estate pros, most of whom admit to being Trump voters. say it's worth more like 300 or 400 million. So why isn't it assessed at that?
Because Trump, for years, has been lobbying the City of Palm Beach saying they can't assess it as if it's just a house, it's more a club than a house. So they used the income from the club to come to that assessment.
So again, Trump used political connections and lies to get a sweetheart tax assessment on his home, by claiming it's not a home. and is now complaining the judge is using that valuation.
