Engoron isn't the one who said it is worth 18 to 35 million that was Palm Beach Tax appraisers, but what do they know they just do it for a living. Trump uses that figure for tax purposes, he's quite happy to accept it for taxes. Trump paid 602K in taxes that year, the tax appraisers said it's based on the income as a club because that's what it's categorized as a club. If Trum wants to claim it's worth the value he could get selling it, 3 to 400K probably, then he has to be willing to have it recategorized as a home, not a club, at which point his property tax bill would skyrocket, Which is why Trump has actually fought them trying to change how MAL is categorized.
A bunch of Palm Beach real estate folks a few months ago said it would sell in the hundreds of millions but the estimate was well below 420 to 1.5 billion which is what Trump said it was worth. And note, these real estate professionals are all Trump supporters.
