I was listening to a historian on a podcast yesterday and he mentioned that these movements because people like violence/rhetoric.
The original America First movement was a pro-nazi anti-minority/Jew political group led by Charles Lindbergh (or at least he was their most public face) that started after Nazi atrocities.
The liberal attraction to communism began with the violence and ended when the violence stopped.
That's how fascism is fueled.
We can keep pointing out Trump's tendencies toward violence but that is what makes him popular with his loyalists.
