time off for work as we do is Japan. We're not a worker friendly nation, were a capital friendly nation and capital likes people to work longer hours and do more people's jobs so they can lay off more people.
I think sticking to a 40 hour work week and enforcing overtime rules, plus a mandatory family leave should be the immediate goals, not 38 hour work week which is so far ahead of where we want to be now that it's ridiculous.
Let's start by stopping companies from squeezing 50 to 60 hour weeks from regular employees first.
