With the new reports that Trump personally called Elon and asked him to stop throttling Starlink and Starshield to Ukraine because of how negatively it was being taken, we now know whoever originally ordered it, Trump or Elon, it's now 100% Elon's fault it's still throttled.
So why is he just evil or what reason does he have? Some prominent Dems think it's simple, Elon wants to use Starlink in Ukraine as a negotiation chip to avoid criminal prosecution if the Dems take the House, Senate, or both. He's not convinced Trump will or even can pardon him so wants to use Ukraine as leverage to get the Dems to cut him a deal that keeps him out of prison
