Texas has a law that property taxes can't go up more than 10% a year on your homestead, so investors can go up more but if you live in the house it can only go up 10%. Texans are now screaming theirs is going up more than 10%. Why? Because they apparently can't do math.
300K value 10% is 30K so the next year it's 330K and 10% is 33K so now it's 363K next year 10% is 36.3 K now it's 396K. So why are your property taxes going up so much, because the 10% is of a bigger home value every year, math.
Meanwhile Republicans trying to stop Texas from going blue are talking about doing away with property taxes. That should end well. Texas has been adding people annually because of their "low taxes" now they're all mad about property taxes and the Governor wants to do away with it when Texas badly needs massive infrastructure spending to keep up with all the people.
Going to be a disaster and then of course they'll blame Democrats
