after the race she defended Lia Thomas, I support her journey, she's following the rules, I fully support her.
And then she found out how big of a deal right wingers were making out of it and they started paying her to go on their shows so she went from supporting Thomas to vilifying her. She went from having no issue to claiming thomas got off sexually on watching them undress in the locker room, said on the Charlie Kirk show apparently after prompted by Charlie.
So when Trump stood up and said he'd watched the race and how Gaines was looking over at Thomas this enormous person and how unfair it was. In reality Gaines was in lane 7, Thomas in lane 2, Gaines couldn't see her and was nowhere near her the entire race. Trump said she lost a trophy to her, she didn't she tied for 5th, without Thomas she still would have finished 5th, she lost to 4 women.
Then Gaines started crapping on Simone Biles because kirk and others were attacking her for leaving gymnastics. and through all of it Biles was trying to point out the real problem in womens sports is NOT trans athletes, its coaches like Larry Nasser molesting girls, and coaches like Riley Gaines' coach who was verbally abusive to his swimmers. But by Gaines doing all the anti trans stuff the actual problem was being swept under the rug.
And after all this is Gaines made 25K for ONE appearance for the GOP in 2025. She's now a podcaster, she earns about 500K a year and is worth more than 2 million dollars. She's appeared on FOX news more times than anybody can count.
This is the entire Trump movement in one story, woman who doesn't even like trump figures out she can make money by supporting Trump and targeting trans people and she turned it into a career
