persistently disappointing.
I look at the (modern) Republican Party as a pack of predators. I have a deep seated hatred against what they do. I think they are fundamentally dangerous beasts who display a variety of psyhopathic behaviors and they lack any foundational morality. But I'm never disappointed in them and I'm very rarely angry with them not do I hate them as individuals, all because because they are what they are. They are a bunch of predators who're doing what's in their nature and they cannot be corrected. They can only be contained and at best, made irrelevant to our daily lives -- which is why we vote for the other guys; to do just that.
And that's where my anger at the Democratic party comes from. I'm angry with the way they're always out of their depth, the way they're ambivalent about power, the way they don't fully grasp the urgency of what's going on, and the way they have picked up a couple of issues they feel comfortable fighting for (the economy and overall quality of management -- we have Bill Clinton to thanks for for that brand of gutlessness) and keep ignoring everything else.
One part is the locust of evil in modern times.
The other part is utterly useless and a victim of learned helplessness.
And that's pretty much my stance on the existing (and deeply undemocratic) two party system and our currently comatose state of hope for a better future.
