This is a true story

We moved from the AV to the Wilshire corridor. The fam likes it better here. But with all the craziness going on with our government, the lying, the corruption, the gaslighting, the govment kidnapping, well I would never have imagined this to be the real world of the USA.

But yesterday, there was a loud banging on our door. My wife was kind of afraid and told me to answer the door. I was in the other room playing computer games. And as I approached the door the banging continued. I decided to embrace the moment and opened the door instead of looking through the peep hole or the ring camera.

When I answered the door there was about 10 cops, 4 paramedics, cop cars and ambulances in front of my street facing apartment, Surprisingly, there were all white, in the 5-10 range, and all clean shaven. The faces were not really that aggressive, most seemed kind of annoyed. I didn't get a danger vibe.

So, I smiled and said "WTF! I'm getting swatted?"

One of the officers in the crowd said they got an emergency complaint for apartment 2XX, I said no, the is apartment 1XX, you can see so on the number just to the right of my front window. Some of the officers on the street were easily able to verify.

As I stood there on the porch, my wife begged me to close the door, because both our dog and cat are runners. It mighta been funny watching all the first responders trying to catch them, but I guess that would be the comedy timeline, we are currently not on. So, I quickly shut the door.

A couple cops asked me how to get in and I told them there are too many key access doors in the complex and they should talk to the DOCK cops in the garage to navigate the building. I gave them a little bit of pointy directions and a couple cops apologized. The Paramedic was carrying a bunch of medical equipment. I told him I hope you get there in time, I'm sorry.

As he walked away, the paramedic said, "you didn't do anything wrong and besides. I get to get my steps in." A great line on TV and a great line in real life.

We have lost a number of UCLA brethren in such circumstances. But not today. With the high percentage of people who seemed to completely lost the American narrative, most have not. I'm feeling kind of hopeful.
