Rep. Eric Burlison, a Missouri Republican, suggested he could leverage his role as a member of the House Oversight Committee to investigate the Smithsonian in order to find evidence of these giants.
These "Nephilim" are mentioned in the bible, and some people believe they were the literal offspring of angels and human women (there are other interpretations that are not as far-fetched).
