He was appointed by Walz and by a previous Dem governor. But there's also video of him ranting about people not knowing what gender they are and other stuff. Seems pretty clear from his manifesto he was a righty.
He apparently planned to shoot up a NO Kings event, had signs for it in his car, and implied in the manifesto others were going to as well although that may have been a scare tactic
