It kind of seems like what you're saying at the end is that society is too ... broken? .... for peaceful push back.

The riots and violence in the 60's were muuuuuuuuch worse than anything that's happened since the Rodney King riots. That seems to have been a turning point. According to the LAT the police killed 10 people, "44 people died in other homicides or incidents tied to the rioting."

And, I think the riots in the 60's were worse.

In the 60's, there was no MLK until there was. I'm holding out zero hope for an MLK type to step forward. The threat of going to a gulag rather than the Birmingham jail is a hell of a deterrent. I'm just saying that it's what we need.
