Cooperage and Numero Uno. Never had a chance to eat at La Barbera's. I think it closed either in the late 80s or 90s.
People were weird about Numero Uno back in the day. The place in Westwood was always packed, but nobody would admit to liking deep dish pizza. Never understood the taboo. Maybe my taste buds aren't what they used to be, but none of the pizza joints in Orange County come close. I tried Rance's Chicago Pizza in Costa Mesa. It was okay.
Coop was Coop. Lots of fond memories as a student and also an alum. It was a great place to stop by before or after a basketball game at Pauley.
