Isn't the standard meant to be a ''football move?''

I've seen plenty of passes over the middle ruled incomplete where the receiver clearly has possession for a split second before the defender hits him. The problem with the 2-point call was that they only ever looked at it in slow motion, and that made it difficult to even consider how long he held onto it.
