3. Alabama (3-0) — Road win over a ranked Kentucky team.
4. Michigan (3-0) — Beat a ranked Oklahoma team.
5. Georgia (3-0) — Blowout SEC road win at Arkansas (45-17), highest-scoring team in the country.
6. Duke (3-0) — Road win over a ranked Illinois team. Nobody's brand-name resume, but the results are real.
7. Tulsa (3-0) — Beat a ranked Oklahoma State team. Group of Six team with a Power 4 scalp.
8. Louisville (2-1) — Beat a ranked SMU team in a shootout; only loss came to Ole Miss.
9. Texas A&M (2-1) — Beat a ranked Arizona State team; the loss to Kentucky stings but doesn't erase the good win.
10. Mississippi State (3-0) — Road win over a ranked Minnesota team.
11. SMU (2-1) — Road win over a ranked Florida State team; lost to Louisville (also on this list, so not a bad loss).
12. UCLA (3-0) — Wins over Cal, San Diego State, and a 52-38 win over Purdue. Solid, unspectacular résumé, but undefeated with no bad losses.

21. Notre Dame (3-0) — Clean record, but no signature win yet to separate them further.
22. USC (4-0) — An extra game played, unbeaten, but thinner resume so far.
23. Iowa (3-0) — Undefeated, steady, no marquee win yet.
24. Missouri (3-0) — Undefeated, no bad losses, but light on quality wins.
25. Penn State (3-0) — Undefeated but hasn't been tested yet.
