and with the unions regarding what a player under contract can and can't do. Presumably, a player in one of those leagues could abandon their contract and go play for a team in another country. They'd be liable for damages for the breach of their contract, though.
Can't happen in soccer, because the governing body of soccer (FIFA) would heavily sanction the poaching team.
