Maybe that's why Dante got thrown into that game at Utah

It goes w/o saying, that Troy carries "some" clout.

I've griped many times over the years over how Chip handled the QB position battle with that group. He had four-way, everyone is equal, battle in spring, with two pre-Frosh (Dante and Martin), a portal guy (Schlee) and the incumbent (Garbers). Then in the fall he dropped Martin. I thought then and now that it was crazy to expect that a true freshman could receive 1/4, then 1/3 of his and the QB coach's attention, and be ready to play. I may be wrong, but my recollection was that Dante didn't play in that game of necessity, Chip just threw him in there. Maybe there was pressure, Troy wasn't paying Dante to sit.

I'll add, crazy as it was, it worked out that giving a little time to four guys was the thing to do. Our OL was so bad we had four guys, maybe five*, miss games that season. *the guy that was here 7 years whose name I can never remember was knocked out of a game - don't know if he could have gone the next week.

But, ya, maybe Troy had something to do with Moore being shoved into that game vs. Utah.
