Watching Coach Chesney at the introductory presser, I couldn’t help but to think (for the thousandth time), “What in God’s name was Jarmond thinking when he hired DeShaun Foster?” (And that is meant solely as a jab at Jarmond, not Foster.) My thank-you goes to the other members of the search team who, clearly, prevented Jarmond from making yet another disastrous hire.
Coach Chesney said everything that needed saying in an economy of words. He’ll work long, hard, and smart, but he’s no magic bullet. Either University leadership commits to building a winning program or let’s not fool ourselves (any longer).
