I wouldn't write off Notre Dame at all. They've been getting better all year, they just haven't played anyone as tough as their early, VERY close losses.

Also, they made the National Championship game last year from the #7 slot.

While their wins are mostly crap, if the 'eye test' is a criteria, they do pass muster, and both losses were very early, as they were breaking in a very young qb, and very close - IMHO, if they played those games again now, they win them both.
