You’ll get no argument from me about the cost of tickets at Pauley, though we could probably debate the quality of the product on the court, that’s probably best left for a different page on this forum.
However, you do raise an interesting point that connects back to the original post. If we’re frustrated with current ticket prices at Pauley, do we really believe a 40k stadium in the heart of Westwood is going to offer cheap seats? Highly doubtful.
To me, this is a classic “be careful what you wish for” situation. The idea sounds great in theory, but a large on-campus stadium comes with serious implications for pricing, access, and logistics that might make the current situation look pretty manageable by comparison.
Anyway, just playing devil’s advocate on this one. I don’t think a stadium in Westwood is coming in my lifetime, but if it does, I’ll gladly go watch a game there. I’m sure I’ll do the same at SoFi if it happens. To be honest, I’ll probably miss the tailgating at the Rose Bowl either way.
