This was my first in person game in 2 years as my wife fell ill and then passed away in June. I’ve been OK most of the time but the combination of the holiday and what would have been her bitthday put me in a funk. I went to yesterday’s game thinking we’d leave at halftime and having an unusual sense of detachment watching the game. But as the game progressed, even though I still expected USC to win, I began feeling like my old self again. So like you I’m grateful and thrilled by what we did get and not concerned with what went wrong at the end of the game.
