He was basically throwing out odds. I have no idea who has had conversations and what the conversations are. I still think the HC will end up being someone that isn't on the radar right now based on how inaccurate and reactive the overall media seems to be these days. No one knew about the possible SoFi talks until the Rose Bowl filed suit. No one had a clue about Chesney until Rick N. said something. The media just catches up and seems to just post from other's reported stories. I don't know if anyone actually investigates anymore.
I know what I would like to see for Ucla football to get me excited again. So I know what I would want to hear from potential HC's in interviews along with the resume. I'm just not part of any conversations and it really doesn't matter what I want.
The thing that intrigues me about Rees is he's been an OC at Notre Dame for a bit and then 1 year as OC under Saban at Alabama. Personally, I think just 1 year under Saban goes a pretty long ways. If he was a candidate, I'd be curious to see who he could get as an OC and DC. I like that he was a QB and QB coach and would like to see Ucla get offensive numbers again. I just would not be opposed to anyone that has had some SEC experience at the high level to come to LA, but that's me.
If somehow Ucla was in a position that Rees and Chesney were still in the running as potential candidates, I think my very little ray of hope would start growing.
