your proposal. There are a bunch of good coaches out there that earn less than what we could pay. And, no coach is a guarantee.
Regarding getting an up and comer, I like it. But, the Cignetti Effect is probably going to make the high profile up and comers very expensive in terms of salary (ok) and buyout (not ok).
I'm as interested in the hot up and comer as anyone else. But, I will take a guy with a proven track record, that is not currently the hot property. This guy would not be my first, second, or third choice. But, if we hired him, I'd be OK, let's go. He's been at Toledo for According to ChatGpt, his current base salary is $1.1 million per year. He's in his 11th year of being HFC at Toledo, is 46, has a .675 winning percentage in conference.
He would not be a flashy hire, but he is a long term proven winner. We could give him a massive salary bump. Massive.
Again, not my first choice, but if we hired some guy that is not even currently coaching over this guy, that would be moronic.
