UCLA has a serious fan support and attendance issue. Just reality. SDSU is in first place in the MWC and no one is going to their games. Why? I’d support him if hired, but UCLA has a lot to fix and the jump from the MWC to the B10 is really tough. Personally I think Barry Odom is dramatically better than Lewis for what he did at UNLV and increasing attendance also. Dan Mullen is fine, but UNLV defense is horrible and think you’ll see them drop some more games. Odom has done much more and I questioned why he made the move to Purdue when he did. I think he’ll still do well, but Purdue is ending up where they are predicted. It’s a big jump to the B10 and arguably the toughest conference right now.
A guy like Fisch has been able to win and has also drummed up fan support. Whether it’s him or someone else, I just hope whoever is next can get interest back in UCLA football. There is A LOT of work needed. Also, hopefully the money is there for OC and DC. Think those may be as important as the HC.
