Michigan State's best win is at home by 2 points over Boston College, who is 1-5 and 0-4 in the ACC.
Penn State hasn't won a road game. They have a win over Nevada (#126 in SP+ out 136 teams) who is 1-5 and in last place in the Mountain West. They have another over FCS Villanova, who is 3-1, but has no quality wins. Finally they have a win over FIU (#130 in SP+).
In short, neither PSU or MSU has beaten a quality team or even a decent team.
