The whole situation is just really frustrating.

If Kelly was burning out, depressed, not enjoying being a HC, or just didn't like Ucla, fine I get it. Do what you have to do. Just don't sign the extension at that point. I think I'm like a lot or most Ucla football fans that I'm just over coaching searches, firings, etc. I wasn't blown away by Kelly's results, but that was our HC so was just sticking to it. If the AD knew about any of that when he did the extension, then he really screwed up. I'm not aware of anything known at that point.

When Lynn left after one year to go to $c, just a lot of speculation after. I don't know if that was any kind of factor in Kelly's decision, but my gut feeling is not that much. The timing of it all was just really bad. The sad part is I really like DeShaun Foster and what he did over time with the RBs at Ucla. Guys always did well and they weren't really known guys.

I don't think he really would have gotten the HC job offer if it was a couple months earlier. At this point, it doesn't matter if I think he's good or bad, I can only hope that the team can start to put some things together. I honestly was as close to checked out on Ucla football at the half last weekend as I could possibly be. I was going to leave and head to a party I passed on, but luckily I ended up having a good conversation with a guy next to me so I decided to stay for a few minutes of the 3rd period. Next thing I know, I'm into the 4th and I'm starting to see a glimmer of hope and a chance to tie the game.
