... but Ucla became pretty good physically in 2021, 2022 and 2023
In 2021, Ucla dominated an LSU team packed with tons of future nfl draft picks. At the end of the year, Ucla crushed sc physically, putting up 63 points. But Ucla couldn't hang with Utah.
In 2022, Ucla thrived in the 110 degree heat in a game no one attended v bowling lawn. BG guys dropped like flies (12 to 14 cramp ups), but Ucla only had one flame out (ezeike, who was too fit for his own good). Although dtr threw up on the sideline after his long td run.
Most importantly, Ucla kicked utah's @ss physically on a warm day at the RB. And also kicked uw's @ss. Two of the best, most gratifying wins of the chip era. Mafi was the poster child. Svelted down to 340, and was a road grader at guard.
In 23, I think Ucla was in even better physical shape, led by latu, the Murphy twins and Muasau. Again finished the year strong.
But then Belton left, and Corey Miller took over.
