The offense knows where the play is going; the defense doesn't. Both have options once a play develops, but the defense has to process what it's seeing and react to it.
At the LOS, Utah was big, strong, physical and experienced. When I heard one of announcers say that Utah had probably the best O-Line in the country, I thought Uh-Oh!
It has been said that a good O-Line is five pennies playing like a nickel. They can adjust to stunts and blitzes on the fly. Our O-Line has much to learn.
It's unfortunate that we had to open the season against an experienced Utah team, augmented by key transfers and a new OC who had been coaching them up.
I believe we'll get better, but will that good enough considering we play against powerhouses like PSU & OSU. It may be a season to remember, or one more likely to forget?
