There were some here who thought it was obvious that Jarmond put some stepped-up academic shackles on Chip. That never made the least bit of sense. Like Chip, who had massive bargaining power over UCLA when he was hired, could have been saddled with heavier restrictions, but Jim Mora and DF, who had very little bargaining power, were not? And don't forget the "books and ball" cultists who claimed that Chip's recruiting was actually a feature, not a bug.

Chip was Lazy, arrogant, and hired coaches who couldn't sell a pork chop to a wolf. It's crazy that this even needs to be debated anymore and that there are still a few gaslighters on the boards trying to redeem their reputations.

Chip Kelly was a disaster as a recruiter at UCLA. Period.

Sure, he still had some X's and O's chops, he can still get the run game going, and he got some good guys in the portal. He won a NC at Ohio State. That does not change the fact that -->

Chip Kelly was a disaster as a recruiter at UCLA.

All we are seeing now is a reversion to UCLA's traditional spot (top 15-20 by my estimation) in the recruiting pecking order. The only difference I see is that UCLA is not a contender for the 5-star types at this point in time.

But lest you forget -->

Chip Kelly was a disaster as a recruiter at UCLA.
