Bolch writes that Frenk only reacted to football mediocrity at the U after being called out publicly by Herbie in an op-ed. Frenk apparently then shook the box, good for him.
We can't expect a repeat performance here.
No one at Ucla will publicly call him out. Mediocrity in football is now as permanent a part of Ucla as the Romanesque Revival beauty of Royce Hall. Mediocrity is what Ucla does now, in everything. They're proud to be mediocre and it shows.
Frenk sounds like he's already infected with the Ucla mind-virus, talking feverishly about saving the program with "new revenue streams". Nope.
Restoring the "old revenue stream" of championship football is the only path by which Ucla can earn the right to continue managing the Bruin football team.
Failing that, market and budget forces will separate Ucla from managing the team. Competent business and football people outside of the UC mindless morass will be contracted to run the team. Jarmond, his glorified 8th grade social studies teachers and the self-annointed Ucla Brahmin will all be fired.
Ucla's a mess. Get them away from the football team. Bruins yes and always, Ucla no and never.
