Really intellectual takes. I appreciate the thinking he devotes to the topic at hand.
Here, he's looking at the importance of "time to throw" as a key metric for a QB. (Don't worry, it's not a metric you'll ever find on espn, and you'll never hear a TV mediot mention it.)
His distinctions are maybe a little too cute for me (Google v AI, etc etc), but to simplify it a little bit, I think of the dichotomy as:
Decisive QBs (get rid of the ball quickly, or quickly decide to tuck it and run), vs stretch out the play and try to do something big QBs. I don't want to put a pejorative label on the latter group. But I'll be frank: I much prefer the Decisive QB archetype, relative to "the Freelancer".
Given my bias, I wonder what type of QB nico iamaelavab is going to be.
My sense, based on watching parts of a couple of his games last year (ou, bammy, tOSU), is that's he's *not* a Decisive QB.
We'll know more after Ucla plays Utah.
