It was worth it just to read the stadium, UCLA and meet records. Trip through memory lane of famous track athletes, men and women, at UCLA. I looked for James Owens who lived in Dykstra Hall at the same time. Owens ran in the 1976 Olympics. However, Greg Foster won the NCAA championship in 1978 in record time and that stands as the UCLA record still. Renaldo Nehemiah holds the Drake Stadium record.
I was surprised to see James McAlister as the UCLA and meet record holder from the 1973 meet. That was before I started at UCLA but I had not heard that McAlister was an accomplished long jumper. Wiki says that his jump in 1973 was the best in the world that year.
