College football has become more inclusive. Post bowls, we had computers choosing 2 teams to play for the MNC. Then the CFP went to a committee that chose 4. Now it’s 12 and it looks like 1 or 2 guaranteed non-power 4 conferences. I suspect the next step is either 16 teams or a a new Premier League and then a B league. When you keep adding more teams, the likelihood of more upsets increases and allows for a broader group who can win it all or at least get a larger slice of the pie.
