If your point is that you don't have to be a big name to end up being a good hire, then sure.
If your point is "go after a small name because they will be a good hire", that's pretty dumb.
Karl Dorrell wasn't a big name either. Terry Donahue spoke highly of him.
Troy Aikman spoke highly of Chip Kelly, btw. To get hired in the first place, someone has to speak highly of you.
