I guarantee there is a pool of players that will consider being in the 2-deep at UCLA as a great opportunity to play in LA, where the sun is shining all the time, and in the B1G, if for no other reason than to showcase their abilities for the transfer portal next year.
There will be NIL funds, although certainly not as much as those wielded by our crosstown rivals or the upper echelon of the B1G and CFB in general, but enough to pay the players who should be paid.
And UCLA will have a coach who is actually interested in recruiting players to play football, which is a big help when you need to recruit players to play football.
The only way life could be better right now is if I was living in Carpinteria, still in Southern California, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle, looking out over the crashing waves of the beautiful Pacific Ocean, contemplating whether or not there was enough ice in my tea.
