Don't know why you get so worked up over this stuff. Our opinions are inconsequential. To carry over a metaphor from another post, we're just 2 dudes chatting while sitting down in adjacent stalls. These conversations have no more impact than that.

"I just had an intellectual problem that the sport that results in the most life altering injuries should be the revenue generator for swimmers or field hockey." If that's how you want to put it, sure, that's what I'm calling for.

As I've said, ad nauseum (you must not read my posts, and that's ok), IMO the value that the media is paying for lies in the schools and conferences themselves - not in the players. The players are replaceable (hear me out). You have said on the basketball board that you can barely watch college hoops because the quality is so low, because the best college aged players are not playing college hoops. Despite that diminished quality, the NCAA is not reducing it's demands from the media. The players are interchangeable. And, as we discussed above, they are extremely well compensated before they receive one penny from the school. Yes, I am absolutely 100% ok with the money earned in football funding swimming, diving, water ballet, whatever NCAA sport the athletic department is able to field. It.is.awesome.

And, with NIL, if a bunch of numnutz, yahoos, bozos wanna pool their own money together an pay a guy to play at their preferred university? Fanfckntastic. And, the player has the opportunity to distinguish himself with his ability and personality. If successful, he can get bunches of money (See Griffin).

So, yep, I am absolutely 100% behind players getting paid by NIL, purely as a pay for play, even*. I am absolutely against them getting paid by the uni.

Peace.
